Deathhorn’s Services
Deathhorn also works with other death doulas and community organizations to assist in:
Advanced care planning support such as clarifying and advocating for wishes, communicate desires with loved ones and medical teams.
Bereavement support such as short-term follow-up, resource referrals, and connecting to grief counselors or support groups.
A death doula (deathwalker, death midwife, end-of-life doula) offers emotional, spiritual, and logistical support to a person and/or their loved ones as they near the end of life.
Deathhorn offers the following services regarding this life transition:
Conversational and educational events centered on death, dying, and grief practices in Western modern life. Conversations and advocacy primarily focus on mortality and grief for children and young adults or for healthy individuals aiming to prepare with the end in mind.
Emotional presence and companionship for the individual during illness, dying, and for loved ones after death.
Practical household aid including death cleaning.
All Deathhorn services are tailored to individual needs and can be provided in homes, hospitals, hospice settings, or even remotely. Prices can be found below.
Most Common Services:
Providing resources and opportunities to assist in educating oneself or others on grief, the dying process, and general bereavement. This includes crafting a bundle of local resources in the above in San Antonio, advocacy and outreach, and crafting book bundles.
Companionship
Sharing space - physically and emotionally - for yourself and/or your loved one(s) as the dying process occurs or after the final breath. Here to listen, to be a shoulder to cry on, to be a still presence, and to relieve some of the psychological burden regarding the end of life.
Educational Support
Conversational Groups
Bringing conversations about death, dying, and grief to the forefront of our modern lives through thoughtful events. Events include journaling workshops, Death Café facilitation, or a book club centered on mortality.

Events (1 hour)
Deathhorn also facilitates educational events with community members. Events range from free to charged.
Educational events include:

Death / Grief Journaling

Price will be determined with community member requesting an event. Each event varies in cost based on location, time, supplies, and space policies.
Bundles
Local Resource Bundles
Crafting physical or digital resources for grief, bereavement, hospices or care homes, law offices, etc.
Includes traveling to businesses for resources on behalf of Client and crafting a short one to two page report on each option

Book Bundles
Crafting a digital list of recommend books based on Client wishes and/or desires surrounding grief, death, and dying
Crafting and purchasing a list of recommend books based on Client wishes and/or desires surrounding grief, death, and dying (Client provides a budget for book purchasing and preference)

Introductory companionship session (1 hour)
Meeting with the Client and/or Caregiver(s) to determine what needs Deathhorn can provide during Companionship services and lay the foundations for expectations and scheduling.
$30/hour
Companionship sessions (1 hour+)
Sitting with and being an centered presence for a Client and/or Caregiver(s).
Provides relief for Caregiver(s) to run errands, take personal time, or go to events (or really anything needing time away!).
Deathhorn does not administer medications or provide brief or wound changes, but Deathhorn works closely with the hospice to identify needs or concerns which may arise during Companionship.
Starts at $35/hour depending on location
Outside of 410 and between 1604 incurs +$10 for gas per session
Client and/or Caregiver billed hourly for time via invoice.

Introductory session (45 minutes)
Meet at the home of the Client and/or Caregiver(s) to review expectations for death cleaning, preview items in the home and any cleaning materials needed, get a general idea of where items will go upon death cleaning, set up a tentative death cleaning schedule.
Death cleaning sessions (1 hour+)
Occur in the home of the Client with bins and boxes provided for temporary storage and donations. Client will also provide any cleaning materials such as but not limited to cleaning spray, dusters, trash bags, paper towels, etc.
Deathhorn will work with the Client and/or Caregiver(s) to find suitable charities to donate items, list items for sale online or for a yard sale, and potentially drop off donated items.
$55/hr
Add ons:
List items online or yard sale +$20/hr
Drop off donations within 5 mile radius +$15, up to two trips
Client and/or Caregiver billed hourly for time via invoice.
